Dominion Partners, in its joint-venture with Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, commenced construction of Somerby at Peachtree City on October 3, 2012.
Somerby at Peachtree City is a senior living rental community located at the intersection of Highway 74 and Rockaway Road in Peachtree City, GA, providing assisted living and memory care to Peachtree City and the surrounding communities within Fayette County.
The community will be a rental facility of 96 assisted living and memory care units. The total facility will contain 82,000 square feet developed to facilitate the unique requirements of its senior population. The physical design, amenities and services of the facility focus on providing a comfortable, active and secure lifestyle for its senior residents. Somerby incorporates a residential scale and style in its design.
Somerby will feature the “Masterpiece Living” concept that is part of the active living lifestyle in the other four Somerby communities. Masterpiece Living embraces an active lifestyle for seniors through enrichment in mental, physical, social and spiritual activities. A variety of indoor areas and outdoor spaces have been included for socialization, activities, exercise and recreation.
“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to partner with Harrison Street Real Estate Capital to develop Somerby at Peachtree City, a state of the art senior community serving Peachtree City and the surrounding communities,” stated Al Worthington, CEO of Dominion Partners. “We are very selective about new sites and target only locations in regions with both a strong senior and adult child population, as exists within Peachtree City. This facility will exclusively provide care to seniors in need of health-related services and cognitive care.”
Common areas of the building will include a restaurant-style dining room, living room, library, discovery room, sunroom, cafe, and fitness center. Other amenities and services offered to residents will include flexible meal programs; scheduled activities, events and transportation; computer room; 24-hour on-site management; landscaped courtyards; and spacious lobbies and seating areas throughout the building.
Studio, one bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments will be offered. The assisted living apartments will feature kitchenettes with refrigerator and microwave ovens. Individual climate controls, walk-in shower with safety bars and telephone and cable connections are standard. Nine-foot ceilings and mini-blinds throughout, wall-to-wall carpet, or wood vinyl flooring, in living and bedrooms, and tile in baths will also be included.

Additionally, we are excited about launching our first project with Dominion. The purpose of the joint venture is for the development, operation and acquisition of senior housing facilities focusing on memory care support and assisted living, with a regional emphasis in the Southeast.”
Somerby at Peachtree City is owned in a joint venture between Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, LLC and Dominion Partners. Construction financing is being provided by First Tennessee Bank. The project was designed by Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio, with civil engineering and landscape architecture by Eberly Associates. The general contractor is Hardin Construction.
